Suzanne Campbell Chisholm volunteers at the Florence Crittenton Home

Suzanne Campbell Chisholm spent some time with the mothers of the Florence Crittenton home on Tuesday. Suzanne and some friends gave the mothers a spa night, which included manicures, pedicures, massages, and facials. The girls had a great time and also enjoyed meeting and playing with Suzanne's baby.

The program provides services for pregnant girls ages 10 to 21 from the entire state of South Carolina. These girls struggle with a myriad of challenges and have a wide variety of risk factors, in addition to being pregnant. Services at the home include residential care, academic education, group and individual counseling, pre-natal care, and life skills instruction. They help each young mother take ownership of her pregnancy and her life, so that she will make informed, beneficial choices for herself, her baby, and the community as a whole. The goal is to help these girls deliver healthy babies, complete their education, and heal through counseling, as well as acquire a sense of autonomy and accomplishment, so that they may become self-sufficient, successful adults.

The group of volunteers meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month. Please contact Suzanne at scampbell@campbell-law-firm.com for more information on becoming involved.
